BJJ Roll-A-Thon and seminar for cancer awareness
The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu taught at Renzo Gracie Latham teaches its students to be the best people they can be, on and off the mats. Brown belt Rich Harris is doing this to the fullest by fighting for cancer support…literally. Rich has put in a lot of work to organize a 24 hour Roll-A-Thon where he and many of our students will train for a full 24 hours to bring awareness to cancer and to donate to the NYOH Community Cancer Foundation.
The NYOH community cancer foundation is quite remarkable because 100% of donations go to the families in need of support. One of these families was Rich Harris’s family. Thankfully Rich’s wife who was diagnosed with multiple myeloma is in remission. Because we are all a family here at Renzo Gracie Latham the Harris family’s fight is also our fight and we are proud to be apart of it.
We are also very lucky and honored to have Rafael “Sapo” Natal conducting a NO-GI seminar the day of the Roll-A-Thon in order to help us raise money. Like professor Bruno, Sapo is also a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Renzo Gracie, as well as a fighter for the UFC. The seminar will be held at 12:00 PM with limited spots available, so sign up now! Seminar prices are as follows :
November 7th to 14th – $40.00
November 14th to 20th -$50.00
Day Of seminar – $75.00
Donations are appreciated but all we are asking for is student participation to help support Rich as well as his family and all the other families that have struggled with cancer.
