PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Build Confidence, Coordination, and Real Skills
Our Kids and Teens Striking Program teaches practical stand-up skills through the same system that powers our adult program — adapted for younger athletes at every stage of development.
This isn’t cardio kickboxing. Your child will learn real technique, develop genuine confidence, and build athletic habits that will carry over into every area of their life.
- Learn real striking fundamentals in a safe, structured environment
- Develop coordination, timing, footwork, and spatial awareness
- Build confidence through measurable skill progression
- Train alongside peers in a focused, respectful class setting
BUILT TO COMPLEMENT JIU-JITSU
This program is designed to work hand-in-hand with our Kids and Teens BJJ program.
Students who train both develop a more complete foundation — learning how to manage distance, create and close space, and understand how striking and grappling connect.
Whether your child trains BJJ already or this is their first martial art, they’ll be building skills that reinforce each other over time.
Who This Program Is For
- Kids and teens ages 7–15 with no experience
- Young BJJ students looking to add striking skills
- Athletes looking to improve coordination, fitness, and confidence
- Parents looking for a structured, coach-led martial arts environment
WHAT TO EXPECT IN CLASS
Classes are structured, age-appropriate, and coached step by step.
Every session begins with a warm-up, moves into technical instruction, and then applies technique through drills and pad work. Students are grouped by age and experience level to ensure every child receives the right guidance.
Light contact and partner work will be introduced progressively — only after a student has demonstrated readiness — and is always controlled and supervised.
WHAT YOUR CHILD WILL LEARN
- Fundamental striking mechanics — stance, footwork, defense
- Punches, kicks, knees, and basic combinations
- Pad work and partner drills
- Spatial awareness and safe training habits
- How striking connects to Jiu-Jitsu and self-defense
COACH: BOBBY FISH.
Bobby Fish is a Capital Region native and lifelong martial artist with an extensive background across multiple striking disciplines.
His training began with Tae Kwon Do and American Freestyle Karate before developing into kickboxing and Muay Thai. As a competitor, he holds a 3–1 amateur kickboxing record and is undefeated in professional boxing (1–0), earning a TKO victory on the undercard of the Floyd Mayweather vs. Deji event in Dubai (2022).
Bobby has trained under respected coaches including Andy Faragon, Jerrick Jones, Greg Smith of Tang Muay Thai, and Alec Brooks of Jungle MMA in Orlando, Florida.
His coaching approach blends the precision of boxing with the versatility of Muay Thai — adapted for all ages and adapted to complement our foundation in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
STRUCTURED BY AGE. COACHED FOR DEVELOPMENT.
Kids 7-9
The Kids 7–9 Striking class introduces young athletes to the fundamentals of striking in a fun, high-energy environment. At this stage, the focus is on building body awareness, basic movement patterns, and listening skills — all through the structure of striking technique.
Teens 10-15
Our Teens 10–15 Striking class moves into more detailed technical instruction, combinations, and pad work. Students develop real skills, real athleticism, and the discipline that comes from consistent, coached training.
YOUR CHILD'S FIRST CLASS
Your child doesn’t need any experience or equipment to get started. Just show up — we’ll handle the rest.
If they continue in the program, they’ll eventually need boxing gloves and Muay Thai shin guards. We’ll guide you through everything when the time comes.
